Your practice
has evolved.

Maybe you've gotten better at what you do. More specialized. More confident about who you help and how you help them.

The internet
has too.

But your website still looks like the practice you had five years ago. Or worse, it looks like everyone else's.

Your work isn’t generic.
Your website shouldn’t be either.

The work / Three transformations

The difference isn't just
how it looks.

Here’s what I’ve done for other practices. Every one is different, but they all start from the same thinking — the thinking your Vision is written from.

Three practices. Three very different problems.

One starting question:

What isn't the current website showing?

Maynard Clinic of Acupuncture

Acupuncture and sports medicine · South Burlington, Vermont Concept study

Darren didn't need a prettier version of his old website. He needed a clearer idea of what his practice stood for, and a site built around it. A clinic spanning sports and orthopedic care, women's health and pelvic health, repositioned around what pain has taken away.

AfterModern Practice Websites

From treating pain to getting your life back.

The transformation started with the positioning and the message. The design followed. Nothing on the original page signalled a clinic spanning sports and orthopedic care, women's health and pelvic health under one roof. The concept organizes everything around what patients have gradually stopped doing, because pain changes more than how a body feels. It changes what someone says yes to.

What changed — and why

Positioning

Lead with the life they want back.

The original site leads primarily with treatment and services. The new concept leads with the outcome those services make possible: get back to doing what your body was built to do. People do not wake up wanting acupuncture. They want to move, work, exercise and live normally again.

Patient recognition

Speak to the patient before explaining the practice.

The redesigned experience reflects what pain has actually changed in someone's life before asking them to understand modalities, credentials or treatment philosophy.

Design and differentiation

Make the practice feel as advanced as the care.

The visual system moves well past the familiar local-wellness aesthetic. The goal is not decoration. It is to make the clinic feel distinctive, sophisticated and immediately different from the alternatives.

Jennifer Knauf
Just got my new website online and it looks amazing! Working with Kevin was so easy and fast. The whole process took just a few days. His team handled every detail, including writing all the pages. If you need an updated, better website for your practice, I highly recommend Kevin.

I like your writing, the brevity of each section, the details you inserted about scheduling, cancellations, texting, disclaimers, sample cases. Brilliant!

The new site looks professional and modern. I like it a lot. The new logo and photo at the top of the home page convey an electroacupuncture vibe.

That's one practice. Yours needs its own idea.

No two of these share a design, and yours wouldn't copy any of them. If you'd be excited to have your practice presented at this level, I'd like to show you the direction I'd take yours.

And the way people find practitioners
is changing.

Google search is evolving, AI search is becoming part of how people research who to trust, and most practice websites were never built for either.

A modern site has to communicate clearly what you do, who you're especially good at helping and why your approach is different, then give search systems the structure and depth they need to understand your expertise.

Built into every project

  • Strong SEO foundations
  • Deeper content architecture
  • Clear practitioner and entity information
  • Authority signals and semantic structure

Structured to make your practice easier for both traditional and AI search systems to understand and surface where relevant.

And it still has to make the right person feel the difference before they've ever spoken to you.

That's why I build sites differently:

Bold. Highly individualized. Future-facing.

Built around the depth of the practitioner rather than the conventions of the industry.

See what that looks like

Your site should look like your practice, not my portfolio.

Every practice is different, every practitioner thinks differently, and every ideal patient needs to recognize something different. So the design comes out of the practice rather than out of a template.

Three more projects, same studio. Nothing in common.

What you’ll receive.

Your strongest positioning opportunity
What I think your practice should become known for, and why that is the opening worth taking.
Who the site should speak to
The patient it should be built around, and what that person needs to recognize in the first few seconds.
The message I'd build it on
The copy direction for the homepage: what to lead with, what to stop saying, and how to say the difficult part plainly.
The creative direction
The visual personality I'd explore for your practice. Imagery, typography, tone and the feeling someone should get on arrival.
Authority and differentiation
How I'd make your expertise obvious rather than buried, and what would separate you from everyone nearby doing something similar.
Conversion and visibility
The biggest opportunities to turn visitors into inquiries, and the search and content openings specific to your practice.

What it isn’t An automated audit · an SEO scan · a report a tool generated · a checklist of generic advice · a do-it-yourself blueprint. I write each one myself, which is why I can only do a few a week.

Founder / Strategy + Creative Direction

I've spent 20+ years learning what makes a practitioner worth choosing.

Before I spent more than two decades helping practitioners market their work, I spent 13 years as a practitioner myself. I know what it's like to do work that's nuanced, personal and difficult to explain, and to need a website that helps people understand why it matters.

Every Modern Practice Website is personally directed by me. Positioning. Copy. Creative direction. The thinking behind the site doesn't get handed off.

Start here / What a practice website has to do

An attractive website and a website that brings you patients are two different things.

Most practice websites are built like a brochure: here is who I am, here is what I offer, here is how to reach me. That was enough when people chose a practitioner from a directory. It isn't now.

A website that actually brings patients in has six jobs to do.

  1. Get found. By Google, by AI search, and by the people searching for what you treat.
  2. Make the right patient feel understood. Within seconds, before they read anything else.
  3. Position you clearly. What you are known for, and who you are unusually good at helping.
  4. Establish authority. Give someone a reason to trust you before they have met you.
  5. Give a compelling next step. For the ready, and for the ones still deciding.
  6. Turn attention into patients. Inquiries, bookings and an audience you own.

Most sites do one or two of these. The rest go unaddressed, and the practice keeps getting found by the wrong people or not found at all.

Anyone can build a website now. Knowing what it should say, who it should speak to and how it should position you is the part that still takes judgment.

How it works / Free, no obligation

01

Tell me about your practice

A few basic details and your current website. Takes about a minute.

02

Reply to my email

I’ll send one straight away. Reply to it so I know you’re real and ready.

03

I review your practice myself

Your positioning, messaging, expertise, patient journey and website. Not a tool, not a scan.

04

You receive your concept and Vision

The direction I’d take it, and the biggest opportunities I see for your practice.

05

Decide what you want to do

If the direction resonates we can talk about me building it. If not, you keep the thinking.

I'd especially like to do this for you if:

Your practice has outgrown its website.

The work you do now is better, deeper or more specialized than what your current site communicates.

You want something unmistakably yours.

You care about distinctive design, but also want help figuring out what the website should say and how it should position you.

You want the thinking handled too.

Positioning, copy, conversion strategy and creative direction are part of the project, not things you're expected to figure out first.

Take a look through the examples on this page. Every project is different and your site would not be a copy of any of them. But if you’d be excited to have your practice presented at this level, I’d love to show you the direction I’d take yours.

I write each of these myself, so I take on a limited number each week. They’re for practitioners and practice owners thinking seriously about their website. If the direction resonates, we can talk about me building it. If it doesn’t, you keep the thinking and nothing is owed.

Questions people ask first.

Is it really free? What’s the catch?
There’s no cost and no obligation. There is a condition: I write every Vision myself, so I can only do a few a week. That’s what the reply in step 02 is for — it tells me I’m spending an afternoon on a real practice rather than a form fill.
Is this automated, or do you actually write it?
I write it. An automated audit tells you your images are oversized and your meta description is missing. This tells you what your practice should become known for, who the site should be built around, and the message and creative direction I’d take it in. That judgment is the whole point — a tool can’t produce it.
Do I need to have a website already?
No. If you have one, I’ll review how it positions you and what it’s leaving on the table. If you’re starting from nothing, the Vision is about the practice itself: who it should speak to, what it should be known for, and what the site would need to do.
What happens after I receive it?
Nothing you don’t ask for. If the direction resonates and you want it built, I’ll quote the project then, based on its actual size. If it doesn’t, you keep the thinking and I don’t chase you. The Vision is written to be useful either way — you’ll know within a paragraph whether I understood your practice, and if I didn’t, you shouldn’t hire me.
Can you build the website too, or only advise on it?
Every project on this page is mine end to end — positioning, copy, design and build. The Vision is the thinking; building it is the work I’d like to do next. If you have an existing site, content worth keeping is carried across and URLs are redirected so search engines can follow the move.
What about SEO and AI search?
Your Vision includes the search and content openings specific to your practice, and every build includes technical and on-page foundations plus a content structure designed to help Google and AI systems understand your expertise. No ethical designer can guarantee specific rankings or recommendations from any of them, and I won’t claim otherwise.
